I'm LIVID that this @USATODAY opinion column wasn't fact-checked - it's irresponsible & dangerous usatoday.com/story/opinion/…
This, for example, which is demonstrably false. Women have absolutely been charged and jailed for abortion (see my thread on this)
And this, claiming that "natural miscarriage" is different than abortion. There is literally no medical way to tell, and women who the state deems 'suspect' will absolutely have to prove their miscarriages weren't deliberate. Why did no @USATODAY editor take this to task?
Sure, print some terrible, anti-woman opinion. Go for it. But if you're not ensuring that your writers tell the truth, you're not doing your job.

This is from an interview about how The Atlantic wants to diversify its writers & editors - but Goldberg doesn't seem to know that people other than white men write longform?
I think he thinks he's saying something good - like, that more women and people of color have to be tapped to write cover stories. Which is true! But this is not exclusively an "experience versus potential" issue - it's a "you don't read enough people who aren't white men" issue
I think he's taking this piece of advice he got from his wife and applying it a little too broadly. [Insert Wife Guy joke here]

Until now, the only SEO space where AMP was kind of "mandatory" was on news: if you want to appear on the "Top stories" box, you kind of need to have your articles to use AMP. You can appear there withouth AMP, but you don't get the same visual benefits #AMP #SEO .
Now Google is bringing "Stories" (like Instagram Stories, Snapchat Stories, etc.) to search results. They just announced it at #ampconf (see ) #AMP #SEO
This means that for certain kind of queries (by now: travel, and later also gaming, movies, tv and fashion) the first result will get another "special box" called "Visual Stories" where you can only appear using not only AMP, but AMP stories #AMP #SEO

My father had gotten my mother pregnant when she was just 15. His father
insisted on an abortion or he'd 'write my pops out of the will'. My pops bailed.

My mother raised me--and 4 siblings--mostly alone.

As I grew up, I remembered the power and influence and wisdom of WOMEN in my life. My Great Grandmother was the key:
Great Grandma Florence had bought 3/4 of an acre in #NorthSac (w/ her husband), when acres were $5.00 ea. They couldn't afford a full one! Great Grandpa died & I never knew him.

Grandma was our true #MATRIARCH. She had a huge garden w/veggies on one side, flowers on the other.
