A note about European election turnout.
It's wrong to assume increased turnout automatically favours remain. Committed Leave voters may be motivated to come out in force for the Brexit Party.

But what we can say (it's a tautology) is that the more pro-Remain votes the better.
If turnout increases across the entire Leave-Remain voting spectrum, that widens the gaps between parties because for example if a 35% turnout means at least 100,000 votes are needed for an MEP in an area, at 50% that goes up to 142,857. So that makes tactical voting harder.
We have no real way to influence the Leave turnout. But it's within our power to influence the Remain turnout by persuading friends, colleagues and family to get out and vote, and crucially to vote for unashamedly pro-Remain parties (and not Labour).
