It's difficult to make heads or tails of this @nytclimate story on Trump Admin moves on climate science. The Nat'l Assessment involves EVERY agency working on climate in the gov't plus outside researchers... Coordinating an assault on it is tough 1/ nytimes.com/2019/05/27/us/…
Also, even if federal reports stop in 2040 and gloss over business as usual emissions scenarios, all that could STILL appear in scientific literature, and STILL be covered in the news. This reads like a trial balloon to me, but don't have insider info indicating that. 2/3
Lastly, the NCA4 was not predicated on a worst-case scenario. It analyzed a range of scenarios, all of which showed significant impacts and damage from climate change in the U.S., with impacts in present-day too. 3/3
