I actually think @theSNP deserve credit for opposing Brexit as vocally as they do, given that if it were to go ahead it would absolutely be the final nail in the Union’s all-but-sealed coffin. Kudos for putting the wishes & welfare of the Scots ahead of party aspirations.

Because here’s the thing; being half & half Scots/English (well Scots/Scouse actually; not quite the same thing) I’m *emotionally* pro-Union but I recognise that this is just my own reaction. Scottish independence would be like watching my parents split up.
But…

… I’ve evolved my position and acknowledged that even if it were to make me personally uncomfortable, Scottish independence is not just inevitable (it’s how and when now rather than if) but from Scotland’s point of view, necessary.

Englanders: It’s been bad enough watching our political establishment lose its fucking mind and plunge the country into chaos; imagine how you’d feel if we’d been plunged into chaos because the FRENCH political establishment had lost its fucking mind and we’d had no say in it.

THAT’s what it is to be in Scotland right now.

As I’ve said before, the very fact the 2016 referendum *happened at all* voided the result of the 2014 Indyref. The Scots JUST opted to stay in the Union only to have a Tory government blithely suggest TOTALLY altering the nature of that Union LESS THAN A YEAR LATER.

So yeah, Scottish Independence is coming, and the only question now is whether it’s a civil arrangement between EU member states or a Hard Border between Gretna and Berwick. Again; respect to @theSNP (and Scotland as a whole) for holding out for the former.
