THREAD: right here's what I think is really going on with #Brexit:

May's game is move to a 2nd ref but blame Corbyn by havin all neolib forces pressure him to support it. then rig the vote while scaring us out of 'no deal' which is actually just 'brexit' - what we voted for 1/18

if the Tories adopt:
Lab Customs union deal = they split
No deal = they split
May's deal = they split
A people's vote = the country splits
this has been their plan all along: to forfeit country for party. to steal brexit. they do not want to leave. 'no deal' was a rebranding 2/19

Corbyn knows this & is bluffing May all the way to that cliff edge because actually he's got wings, & the freedom of a clean break will aid his program, free from EU spending caps or investment rules. he's far more willing to push this to the wire than May 3/19

The tories are literally trying to create anarchy in the UK to save their party!
All Corbyn has to do is sit & wait for them to call a 2nd vote, then give his MPs a free vote on it, which likely wouldnt win a majority, then its over. general election time. genius. 4/19

Perhaps Corbyn saw this, knew this would be their game plan & is baiting them with their own propaganda. 'no deal' is just 'actual brexit' & would unlock Corbyns socialist program. that's what he wants, but he knows the weight of neolib propaganda would warn against it 5/19

So he's using their lie against them. ANY resolution to this mess before or on the 29th of March will end in their split. They must displace the blame. Now May has begun that process, with fringe Tories actively campaigning for a 2nd vote, setting the scene. 6/19

if Tories call a 2nd ref without Labour's approval, the country implodes, whatever the outcome & everyone will be so pissed at the tories that Corbyn cleans up at the next election. With soldiers on the street, fake traffic jams, etc its theatre to scare us off 'no deal' 7/19

so Tories only hope, the worst case outcome & now I'm worried this is what will happen, is they'll extend article 50 till after LabConf19, we've already heard the figure 9 months mentioned, that's September, centrists & misguided others, after 3yrs of project fear could...8/19

... force the party manifesto to support a 2nd ref or outright remain, that's the only way the tories can use this to hurt Labour. The EU will help them do this. The 2nd ref will be a round Robin between no deal, May's deal & remain.

so they need to delay past Labconf19. the Tories would still pay a price but it would be mitigated by Labour officially supporting the same rubbish conclusion. May's 'BRINO' proved she never intended to leave. she concocted a deal designed to fail. 10/19

Corbyn will NOT let them share the blame if he can help it. By joining their circus of lies about 'no deal' he has managed to galvanise a majority neolib labour party in opposition to the tories. seemingly protecting the national interest against their fake catastrophe 11/19

Corbyn would prefer 'no deal' in order to implement his program of investment. but there was no realistic way for him to make that case and get this far. he would have lost many centrist MPs and not been able to command the vote wins he has.12/19

the Tory Nick Boles amendment seeks to literally make 'no deal' (ACTUAL BREXIT, the thing that was voted for!!) ILLEGAL!! sorry for all caps. but fuck!! their own lie of changing the meaning of leave to mean something that scares everyone, has culminated... 13/19

... in them trying to outlaw the enaction of what this country voted for. absolutely staggering.
its a risky game on both sides, but the government & neoliberal establishment set the agenda. all Corbyn could do is find a game plan to match theirs.14/19

its their world, he's the agent provocateur in a madhouse. there's no way he could have made the case for Lexit without losing a large number of his MPs & fight the weight of neolib propaganda. he's had to adopt their bogus rhetoric around no deal to turn it against them 15/19

all the integrity initiatives in the world can't change the fact people know this system isnt working. you can't fix inequality with spin. no matter how much they pull the wool, the problems they've created will still exist. 16/19

.. from a minority position within his inherited centrist PLP, he had to keep them on side to take the tories down. its worked at every turn. this explanation is the only way to make sense of the tories epic ineptitude & a socialist opposing his own long wished for outcome. 17/18

no doubt Corbyn had many late night chats w/ Tony Benn about how to destroy the Tory party if it came to a referendum or a chance ot leave the EU. We could be witnessing the final stages of a Benn plan to destroy the tories. 18/18
