POTUS is the first GOP President to acknowledge Pride Month, and for that reason many of his supporters see him as a positive force on these issues.

But this tweet does not reflect his record on these issues in the US, which has been to erode LGBTQ rights (thread) 1/

The billionaire-undersigned guru said a Texas map drawn by counting only voting-aged citizens “‘would be advantageous to Republicans and non-Hispanic whites,’ and would dilute the political power of the state’s Hispanics.”

The decennial census hasn't asked about citizenship status since 1950. The Trump admin claimed they needed the question to enforce the VRA, but three lower courts found that was a deceptive pretext. Plus, we already have citizenship estimates from the voluntary census ACS survey
Millions of people would likely be undercounted if the citizenship question is on the census. That alone would deprive urban areas & communities of color of their rightful representation & federal funding, shifting it to rural whites. But it gets far worse from there
