Just watched an André Rieu / Johann Strauss orchestra in Dublin video.
Utterly awesome (this rave coming from a relative philistine in classical music department).

Highly recommend it. This man is not just a musical director - he is an amazing theatrical director.
What a show!
One last piece of the Dublin concert was a jig! Utterly fab. The audience got up dancing and clapping.
Reminded me of my Irish roots, and jigs and great times at garden parties around the bay, in Newfoundland.

Wish I’d been there.
Wish he’d come to NZ!
Musical class, and roots.
Looks like we can watch an upcoming André Rieu concert in New Zealand (called “Shall we dance”), at the cinema 27-28 July 2019

FYI, I am not a marketer (and certainly not a classical music fan), but after seeing the Dublin show CD, I really think this musician is worth following

Appalling! The US, UK and Ecuador govts are guilty of persecuting a member of the media for acting in the public interest, by informing the public of serious wrong doing by powerful elites.

Other media do this in a very agenda driven way, and get away with it.

Houthis attacked an airport in Saudi Arabia

I’ve been listening to outrage of Saudis being interviewed by Aljazeera - and wonder at their lack of recognition of this as an inevitable reaction to the relentless attacks by Saudi Arabia on Yemen resulting in a humanitarian crisis
To his credit, the Aljazeera interviewer didn’t let one-eyed comments by his Saudi interviewees go unchallenged

But the confirmation bias of ethically bankrupt war mongers seems totally resistant to reality

How can we have Peace and stability w power mad monsters running amok
More than 85,000 children under age 5 have likely died of starvation in the war on Yemen led by Saudi Arabia and its war allies.

There are more than 1 million refugees from Yemen due to this war.

Why is negotiation, reconciliation and Peace so hard for war mongers to stomach?

In Brazil, as in the United States, judges are required to be impartial and neutral, and are barred from secretly collaborating with one side in a case.

This apparently did not happen in the case of the apparent election-rigging-geared Operation Car Wash in Brazil.

Awesome! Mexico had a huge and thriving opera (and classical) scene in the 1800s and had world-class composers and musicians. Tijuana still does street opera events too.
I mean they still do. Mexico's music scenes are phenomenal. muse.jhu.edu/article/249406
Recognize this song? You probably will. It's by Juventino Rosas, who wasn't just Mexican (from Guanajuato) but also indigenous. He started as a street musician and died at only 26. Imagine what more great music he could have composed had he lived longer.
