Look we have had tariffs for the last year on steel/AL. We have had tariffs on $250B of china goods (10 &25%) for almost a year, on washing machines& solar panels for longer than that. While some products may have increased in price some, overall inflation rate is less than 2%.
Now, you can continue to go on like global warmists shouting about things that aren't happening or you can look at the numbers and see that so far the American consumers are not paying for the tariifs.
Hey, maybe one day in the next 12 years we will all die from CO2 and maybe one day American consumers might pay for tarrifs but as of now both pronouncements (no matter how frightening they may be) aren't being backed up by the facts on the ground.
So the "free traders" and global warmists can bitterly cling to their theories, charts and computer models; but that doesn't change what we are observing today. In all science, if the observable results do not match your theory, you need to change your theory.
One other point, I didn't mention. During the period that we have had tariffs we have also seen record employment, very low unemployment, an increase in wage growth, and about a 3.0% GDP growth. I don't know about you all, but I think those 4 things are very important.
