Starting to read the #NewEducationPolicy. The committee’s obsession with RTE continues. “Compulsory education” is nothing but coercive education. Extending it to 3 year-olds? Are you going to rip children from parent’s laps to put them in school?

No, it doesn’t. How many professions need 12 years of schooling? Is it necessary to be a farmer? Or are we saying we don’t need any more farmers or barbers. How about masons and plumbers? Do even call center wallas need 12 years? Why force it?
Basic language literacy and numeracy is all that is useful for many people from schooling. Traditionally professions have been learned via apprenticeship. RTE with compulsory schooling aims to kill this transmission of knowledge.

I am saying let people choose. I am completely against compulsory education where people are considered too dumb to make choices for themselves and their children.
What part of CHOICE do you not understand? Besides basic literacy and numeracy, Why make 12 years of schooling compulsory?
