Getting a job is a full time job. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM

In order to be successful at this job of getting a job, you must be efficient and effective in 5 key things. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM

1. Be specific and clear

There is nothing called "any job".

Be clear in your mind the kind of job(s) that you are interested in. Have a top 3 list of jobs. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM

2. Prepare for the job

Research and find all you can about this job - tasks, responsibilities, person specifications, companies that hire people for the job role. Ensure that you skill up to meet the set requirements for the role. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM

3. Spread the word

Network with people on social media platforms (@LinkedIn @Facebook @Twitter), friends, families and at career events and let then them that you are searching for a suitable and specific job role. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM

4. Have an Applicant Kit

Your kit should have a customisable cover letter, resume or CV and your professionally written LinkedIn profile. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM

5. Volunteer/Temp

In order to overcome the working experience challenge, you need to seek out opportunities to volunteer or work in temporary positions that would enable you acquire the relevant experience that would help you stand out. #myjobmaglagosinternmeetup #HRwithEM
