25IQ Quiz: Starting with the day this magazine was published in Jan 1975 until today:

Name an innovation milestone that represented a "lollapalooza effect" - multiple factors interacting in ways that feed back on each other to create outcome far bigger than the sum of the parts.
Here are a few milestone events in my view:

1979: VisiCalc

1979: First analog cellular deployment by NTT in Tokyo

1981: IBM PC

1983: Lotus 123

1983: Motorola DynaTAC

1983: AMPS mobile network deployed in North America

1984: MacIntosh

1985: Excel for Mac (before PC)
Was it lucky for me that I started a career that would be driven by technology in the fall of 1980 just two months before Microsoft would sign the agreement to supply MS-DOS to IBM? Is it fun to tell stories about what has happened since then that I saw up close in many cases?

1/ A startup CFO goes into a bar and sits down.

Bartender: "What'll it be?"

CFO: "Set me up with seven whiskey shots and make em doubles."

The bartender served the whiskey and watched the CFO drink the shots one after the other, almost as quickly as they were served.
2/ Bartender: "Why are you doing all this drinking."

CFO: "You'd drink these whiskey shots this fast too if you had what I have."

Bartender: "What do you have?"

CFO: "I have a some highly underwater stock options, a pitch deck and one dollar."

Trying to get the minimum financial support to live independently in 2019, a thread:

After a PIP reassessment, my PIP was halved. I asked for a 'mandatory reconsideration' and the only way the DWP will reconsider their decision is further medical evidence.
When you're reassessed for PIP, you can only send letters from doctors from the past 2 years. I had sent in 20+ pages of medical evidence from the past two years but the DWP still deduced my mobility had improved significantly enough to lose the 'mobility componenet' of PIP.
The DWP assessor had written in the report that I can walk 200m with no problem. Disregarding that I spend days & weeks bedbound. They seemingly have no understanding of fluctuating conditions.

1/ Organisations need generalist advisers who are not attached to their experience and expertise. Fresh eyes + deep understanding of individuals across cultural divides will mark emerging consulting paradigms. This will put pressure on business schools.

The new world is digital. The new generation is digital. Change is on an accelerating curve. Learning is not. #futureofwork

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether
