#TrumpCamps is trending today (June 24th, 2019) in reaction to the mistreatment, abuse, and neglect of immigrants and asylum seekers (particularly children) detained under the present administration's policies.

The current spike in #TrumpCamps traffic looks organic - very few tweets are sent via automated means, and other than prolific use of the hashtag, we didn't see much in the way of repetition.
Retweet network for #TrumpCamps. The majority of tweets condemn the administration's policies and originate with left-wing or centrist accounts. A substantially smaller cluster of right-wing accounts antagonistic towards those using the hashtag is also present.
#TrumpCamps is not a new hashtag-it appears sporadically going back to Dec 2015, and trended in June 2018 following the administration's announcement of a tent city for migrant children in El Paso and an MSNBC report on conditions inside an existing detention center for children.
#TrumpCamps appears to have been independently invented by multiple early adopters. As a side note, the first account to tweet it (@Lewis_Prothero) also appears to have dabbled briefly with automation (not a botnet, more likely one person experimenting with their own account.)
