Not really my reporting purview but I assume there are stories about how real estate investors and others are looking at how Scotland will rise if Brexit happens possibly prompting Scotland to leave the UK?
Also it seems like Scotland could be well positioned as the earth warms.
What's Scotland's policy on Americans with Scottish heritage? Asking for me.
Just here for the eventual podcast on this latest chapter in Scotland vs England. France will play role too, no doubt. Time is a flat circle.

1/ Re photo of drowned father and daughter. Some of the greatest, most socially important photos ever did not come with/allow for permission from the families. The drowned Syrian boy. The girl running from Napalm. The kids jumping from Philly burning building. Falling man.
2/ The terrified blood covered child at Iraq checkpoint. And re video: Rodney King. Tamir Rice. All the police shootings.

I get why people are concerned about victims/families. But there's at least as good a case to be made for why we should see more of such horrors than less.
3/ Kent state. Dogs and high powered hoses being turned on civil rights marchers. The list goes on and on. Indeed one could argue that some of the worst things—forever wars, mass shootings—continue because media don't show those images.

There is talk - not all of it idle - about whether the EU will give time-limits, or some other concession on the Irish backstop to get a #Brexit deal over the line.

There are those like Sir Ivan Rogers who believe the EU will never actually give concessions of this kind to @BorisForeignSec because they cannot reward a PM with "trumpite attributes" - that may well be - but my point is that the EU can't have their cake and eat it on this. /2
@BorisForeignSec There is quite a lot of 'softeness' around the EU at the moment, as well-connected observers like @Mij_Europe have also seen - talk of giving new PM (yes, including Boris) a fair/professional hearing...particularly in Berlin /3

1) Corbyn = #Brexit = NHS sell off
Difficult to understand attitude of remaining Corbyn supporters as being any more than a cult of personality in the same vein as Farage (only less successful currently)
Corbyn supports Brexit, and Brexit means the dismantling of the #NHS
2) Whatever Corbyn says, or his supporters believe, there is no Labour #Brexit, or Jobs first Brexit, or "protect the NHS" Brexit, there's just Brexit - and a weakening of the UK's protections and institutions which will undermine the NHS and worker protections
3) it's well documented that there is no love for the NHS, or worker protections, in the right wing of the Tory party and Faragists. Its also well documented that the NHS is disliked by many US interests because its powerful enough to set drug prices

#brexit is a belief, a religion. There's no evidence to support it. It is just a blinkered faith. They believe what they want to believe. Their leaders are preachers, not politicians, & their reaction to doubting them is that of nothing less than a religious fundamentalist #FBPE
2. As such many will quite literally do this for some kind of reward in the next life or for a "cause" for their fellow followers. And when you read the words of some of their protagonists that is exactly what one sees.
3. And we must ask how it is possible so many have been converted to this religious extremism. In general it will the same as elsewhere, hardship, poverty, hate, a conditioned mind that is made to believe a specific group is the cause of their troubles.
