The Biometric Commissioner's annual report has been laid in Parliament. It's 140 pages long, so just in case you don't have a chance to read it, here are some highlights
1. The bit where he says the Ministry of Defence doesn't have a legal basis to search the police database of fingerprints 
2. The bit where he says the Home Office doesn't know what it's doing
3. The bit where he says the Biometrics Strategy isn't actually a strategy
4. The bit where he just comes out and says he doesn't understand the lack of Home Office action on new biometrics
5. The bit where he says a no-deal Brexit would be a disaster for policing
6. Not forgetting the bit where he says that this is an incredibly important issue "which will influence trust in policing for some time to come". So... totally cool that we're just letting it slide then
