Today in America: weighing the combination of pictures coming out of a camp in McAllen, Texas, Congressional visits elsewhere to other camps, and evidence of CBP discrimination in private facebook groups.

One is the dire conditions they report.
The other is front-line officials openly disrespecting members of Congress. Street-level bureaucrats who no longer accept democratic accountability.

There is certainly a reason to care about the agencies, like the EPA, that Trump is deconstructing. But in terms of democratic norms, we have more to worry about from agencies that have bought into the authoritarian norms of Trumpism.
