Human beings, depending on many factors of capable of the entire gamut of attributes. At the very bottom of it all is evil. Taking pleasure in causing or witnessing suffering in others. We are witnessing, thanks to don, that attribute rising to the norm. It is practiced...
it is rewarded, it is celebrated , and it it is the supremist of pleasures for more people than we ever imagined possible. This situation at the border, the savagery of it, this is deliberate. And this is how those mentioned get their rocks off.
If you are not watching the images that have been wrought by the evildoers, then you should be. If you are watching and taking pleasure in it, then you are in that category of the lowest form humanity can engender. And even God can’t help you.

An ideology killed those people in El Paso. And Ohio. And at the Garlic Festival. And the Synagogues, Churches and Mosques. It is the ideology of donnie. And mitch. And lynsie, and they wear it on their lapels like some Americans wear flagpins.
They have armed their followers with the rotgut of hatred and the deification of all the instruments of death the nra can sell. They have declared war on diversity as though it was pearl harbor. Their thoughts and prayers are a slap in the face to anyone who cherishes humility.
In our desperation to make it stop we try to legislate. But one cannot legislate away an ideology. All one can do is stand up to it. Look at it in its face and make sure the haters never ever get to raise their hands and lie on a Bible as they swear to protect our constitution.

Here’s the problem folks:we have one party that will do anything to win.Regardless how amoral, illegal,and un-American it may be.They suppress, they gerrymandering, they willingly except help from enemy foreign powers,They follow no laws, And have zero fealty to the constitution.
The other party is built on compassion in fairplay. Their’s is a different game, on a different playing field. They couldn’t beat their adversaries at their own game no matter how hard they try. Their victories must be achieved from a higher ground.
The true enemy of the people is how easily they can be manipulated through fear and hatred. How easily they wallow in philosophies that do nothing but exacerbate their misery. And how deeply rooted they are in some phony nostalgia that will wipe the slate clean & bring happiness.

Now that the world is beginning to come to the agreement of what I have been saying for two years, the fact that our current president never won anything, but was in fact illegally and illegitimately installed, we must begin to entertain the notion of an annulment.
Yes, annulment! Impeachment is too good for him. Impeachment is for actual presidents, not those illegitimately installed by a foreign power’s ability to rig a very vulnerable system. An annulment would erase two years of the illegal rule.
Relitigate the illegal and un-American installation of 2 Supreme Court justices thus loading the court to a return to medieval values. Relitigating the illegal order of preventing people from seeking legal asylum at our borders.

When I started my first tenure track position, I was handed the key to my office and basically told to "go get tenure". Fortunately, I had great advisors who helped me figure out how to do that. I'd like to share some of that advice. 1/ @UFCISE @uf_fics
This advice is heavily biased towards positions in Computer Science at R1 universities. There's likely lots of survivorship bias, which means that some of this advice is bad for you. That said, I hope that there are a few things in here that are useful to everyone. 2/
1) Define what success is for you, then tell everyone else. Demand on that being how you are evaluated. I try to focus on impact. That could be a top quality publication, or kicking off a start-up. Folks in your department need to know why what you've done has value. 3/

Many employers:
* require degrees that aren't vital
* expect expert (8+ yrs) experience at entry (1-3 yrs) salary
* no longer offer full-coverage insurance at good rates
* don't offer remote work
* don't offer 401k match (or 401 at all)

This is why people "decide" to freelance.
Also, many companies employ freelancers to:
* skirt salaried work requirements
* avoid paying benefits
* enjoy quality work at lower cost

Contractors and permalancers have it especially rough, as they're paid regularly but don't know if they'll be extended + no benefits.
Think about all of that w/ longtime automatic push for college, student loan debacle, 2008 recession, health insurance premiums in general, Trump admin's actions to raise ACA premiums/eliminate pre-ex/scare health co's & Wall Street, & no 401k.

Sure, ppl "decide" to freelance.🙄
