Really great thread that explains a lot of what many of us have been thinking. And now I'm pissed again.

Lost my grandpa last year. Can't stop thinking about what he & his family went through, and how some are intentionally abusing/diminishing it to score cheap political points.
Unless you've heard the firsthand stories, felt the numbers on your family's arms, seen the pain in the eyes of survivors, or walked inside those chambers, it's hard to explain how far beyond politics this goes for many of us.

She is also unlikely to ever herself accomplish anything substantive legislatively given that she consistently attacks and insults Republicans and moderate Democrats she would need to pass legislation.

That stuff plays well on Twitter and in the press, but not in Congress.
You succeed in Congress by convincing people, not by attacking them. Bullying works on Twitter, but it doesn't win you votes.

Her fans in the press can help make her into a media darling, but not a succesful legislator.
Pelosi already let those freshmen have too much power, which cost them an embarrassing loss on the aid bill. I don't think she is going to make that mistake again.

A Somali refugee escapes a hellhole and is welcomed here to the point where she becomes a Congresswoman despite a history of corruption, dishonesty (even admitting to making stuff up in this very story), and bigotry, but somehow America is the problem.
Yes, we know she pretends America is terrible while holding us to a standard she doesn’t apply to anyone else (except Israel).

Also, can any mainstream reporters cover Omar without extensively downplaying her bigotry and corruption?
America has far more reason to be disappointed with Ilhan Omar than Ilhan Omar has to be disappointed with America.

We have a tough situation at the border. We should seek to deal with migrants humanely while enforcing the law. With that said, keep in mind that migrants are knowingly and voluntarily choosing our “concentration camps” over staying in Mexico or being sent home.
Now obviously many of these people are desperate and seeking a better life, but that’s why the comparison is so absurd. Jews didn’t choose Nazi camps over their homes, N Koreans don’t choose Gulags over South Korea, Chinese Uighars don’t volunteer to attend re-education camps.
And if people are going to continue to abuse the tough situation or try to make it worse as a means to push for 0 enforcement and open borders, it will inevitably lead to an anti-immigration backlash from many Americans. That will not be good for the country.

At least 10 loyalist KIA including 1 on Jub Ahmar (#Latakia/#Hama border)

HOWEVER May 6 was also 'martyrs day' so Facebook was flooded w/ old martyr posts making collecting accurate data very difficult.
7 of these deaths were #Tiger_Forces w/ 6 from #Taha_Regiment's Maskana Group and Omar Naqr Group (pic)

Jub Ahmar death was from #4th_Division, although I was told there were many other deaths here not reported on loyalist social media.

Taking money in this movement can hurt a person's credibility because people will start to view them as a business. Reaching out can then be viewed as marketing. Shares, likes, hits and views are then looked at as gains.

A person making money off the movement does not turn them into a bad person. Disinformation does. If they are spreading the truth, thats all that matters. There are a lot of Patriots that want to support the work of Patriots they look up too
