THREAD 🚨

Quick thoughts on how/why LC+IF is unique.

Gluconeogenesis and lipolysis run in parallel in catabolic states. GNG is the reason you aren’t in hypoglycemic shock, it’s also the reason why your blood sugar is high.
As fat mass decreases (organ fat undergoes lipolysis) the insulin production in the first phase will actually increase but overall AUC will decrease.
The longterm goal is fat mass reduction, and this is why fasting with daily intermittent fasting is crucial once appetite is controlled. It becomes much easier to fast when your fat oxidation is high and you know that you can eat low carb, if needed.
Eating low carb improves metabolism regardless of weight loss, & the alternative of eating high carb would decrease ketones & undo a hormonal/glycemic state that takes weeks to develop. The ketones, stable glycemia and high protein/fat are crucial for longter appetite suppression
Bottom line: view fat and carbs like an interchangeable reservoir of which many are over-filled. The easiest & quickest way to access that reservoir is low carb, stable glycemia, fat adaption then intermittent fasting. You get to enjoy steak and not be hungry.

Hope this helps.
