1. It was the summer of 1950. The US/UN forces were in very bad shape in South Korea. They were being steadily driven south from the 38th parallel ny NK. The UN forces suffered defeats while gaining time in places like Chonan, Chochiwon, Pyongtaek, and Taejeon.
2. By the late summer the UN forces were pushed into a small defensive perimeter in Pusan. It looked hopeless. The North Korea army could easily supply the front while supplies for the UN had to be brought in. It took time and effort to bring forces to bear against the North.
3. However, the UN had an ace in the hole, the UN supreme Commander General MacArthur and the US marine corps. Macarthur like most Americans at the time didn't know the meaning of the word quit.
4. MacArthur drew up Operation Chromite. The plan was to land an amphibious force at the harbor of Inchon close to the SK capital of Seoul to cut the NK supply lines.
5. The battle of Inchon. Started on Sept 15th, 1950. The US Marines backed up with the US navy won the day. It was a complete success. 566 UN/US forces lost their lives that day and 2713 were wounded. Yet the Marines were able to kill and Capture 35,000 North Korean troops.
6. By Sept 25th, 1950 Seoul was retaken and the 8th Army trapped in the Pusan perimeter were able to breakout. The rout was on. The North Koreans were pushed back beyond the 38th and the UN forces followed. China had to enter the war with 200,000 troops to stop NK from falling
7. The battle of Inchon changed the entire war. It was a masterful strategy that carried high risk. It flipped the strategic balance in the area. It took China's entry into the war in Nov, 1950 to return the situation back to a stalemate that lasted about another 2yrs of fighting
9. That stalemate has lasted in a ceasefire to today and Trump's walk into NK the other week along with the SK Pres. Moon's a couple months ago were the first political breaks on that stalemate since. The fake media can pretend neither actions matter but they do.
10. I called Trump's threat of Mexican tariffs last month, his Inchon. It came as a surprise. It cut the left's supply lines. It made the left retreat and changed the strategic balance of the political battle at the border. It was a strategic master stroke on Trump's part.
11. The left was winning with their "flood the zone" effort pushing record numbers of illegal immigration to our borders and cutting off funds. Trump was in a defensive perimeter. Holding the line and building up his defenses but being steadily pushed back.
12. Trump has been playing for time for the last 6 months or so. His order to send troops to the border, his EO and reallocation of funds were all efforts to stall for time. The left used their courts and 🏠 to continue the assault on the border.
13. Things started to look a little bleak. The anti-Trump forces on the left and right were pushing the talking point that he failed on the border, that 1+million illegal immigrants would be caught and released into the USA this year. It was over they screamed.
14. They testified that on one of his biggest campaign promises; he lost the battle. He caved. He was weak. He lied...blah blah blah. The "muh we are all doomed, immigration" crowd were in their element and then....out of no where....
15....came the Tariffs threat. The "marine" amphibious economic landing. Within days the Mexican government caved. The supply chain was cut off. Trump's follow-on forces continue to pour in through the break out. The left are in full retreat.
16. Throwing up "overcrowding" and "racism" charges to cover that retreat. The defeat was so massive Pelosi caved to additional funding because her forces couldn't hold. Now the next phase, the deportations, start. What forces will the left throw into the battle to stem the rout?
17. Time will tell. However, as the battle of Inchon and Trump's strategy on tariffs show, oftentimes it is darkest before the dawn and great victories can turn the entire tide of a war.
18. I've seen Trump do this on many different fronts and in many different ways over the last couple years, because Trump like those Americans of old doesn't know the meaning of the word quit. It's one of the main reasons why his support has not and will not falter.
