1/n In 1994, 61% of white liberals felt that controlling and reducing illegal immigration was an important policy goal. Fast forward to 2016, a white liberal was just as likely to say it's not at all important (20%) as very important (19%)
2/n Likewise, 65% of white liberals in 1994 felt that a large influx of immigrants and refugees was a critical threat to US interests. By 2016, they were significantly more likely to say it 'wasn't important at all' (34%) than see it as a critical threat (16%)
3/3 More modest but significant changes among moderates, little if any among conservatives (as I've been saying).
