"Perot owned the only Magna Carta ever allowed to leave Great Britain. He loaned it to the National Archives in Washington, D.C., and in 2007, the Perot Foundation sold it for a tidy $20 million profit."
Perot was the most successful Independent presidential candidate in US history; in 1992 he garnered the highest share of the popular vote (18.9%) for any non-Dem or GOP candidate since Theodore Roosevelt in 1912. But oddly that's not mentioned in the Dallas Morning News obituary
Which may suggest that Perot and his family, who heavily influenced the obituary, are eager to downplay that aspect of his legacy for whatever reason. Despite their obvious parallels, as far as I know Perot never commented publicly on Trump from 2016-onward

Rep. Al Green first introduced an impeachment resolution in Jan. 2017, before Trump even assumed office. His resolution today received 95 votes, 40% of the Dem caucus (including, significantly, Nadler) despite the procedural stupidity of introducing it before Mueller testifies
A slew of new House Dems and presidential candidates backed impeachment proceedings after Mueller delivered a 9 minute statement in May. Next week he's testifying for 5 hours. You only need another 25 or so Dems for a majority in the caucus
The past few weeks have been a "down time" for impeachment-related activity but support has still been slowly growing. An essentially pointless resolution just got 95 votes. Mueller next week is the grand salami. Saddle up!

The guy claimed he was going to kill himself and then couldn’t complete the task so now he’s in custody. Photos of girl’s dead, mutilated body are posted everywhere. There appears to be some unverified, convoluted backstory involving various anonymous online forums. Grisly stuff
The guy’s intended last act was to post photos of himself bleeding to death on Instagram, which of course are now preserved online. The suicide failed, perhaps purposefully, but imagine the mindset where that’s your last dying act

William A. Brewer III is a successful corporate lawyer with practices in Dallas and New York. The @NRA hired him to take on New York regulators who cracked down on its Carry Guard self-defense insurance, and the insurance brokers who backed out of the program under pressure.
The case against the insurer, Lockton Affinity, has been filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, where Brewer is not a member of a bar. So he had to submit a "pro hac vice" application to appear as the NRA's counsel.
