Pelosi's BS about Twitter reflects a long-standing establishment beef with marginalized people who develop a significant following on here. It upsets their preferred power dynamics that people who aren't their brand of elite have a profound effect on public discourse.
I'm tired of people like Pelosi acting like Twitter ain't shit while also trying to censor people's behavior here. As tho the platform were at once irrelevant and also super important. She knows what happens here affects the larger scheme of politics. She resents it.
In Pelosi's mind, people like AOC cut in line, in terms of clout and power, by developing a large following on social media. She doesn't want them to leverage what power they have bc them having it at all is unacceptable to her.
You'll notice Pelosi doesn't take on the Republicans with this kind of vigor. She caved on border funding. Rather than getting angry at people who are accurately describing how she's doing her job, she could always, you know, do a better job.
