Local Man is here again with another thread..
Few months back I explained that we are in a situation where we either sink or swim.

We can change govt as much as we want, we won't make any progress with this set up. We will only take baby steps or dance in circles.

Drop all those sentiments about politics and embrace critical thinking. Governance is a totally different ball game. It is a different airplane that must take off smoothly after elections. Everyone of us is on the flight, if it crashes, we will all be hit hard.
We have carried politics on our heads like gala sausage. Most of your influencers cannot reason outside politics and ethnic narratives. No meaningful contribution or insights, just noise.

The FG cannot continue to grab everything. Population growth, expenditure increase
Meagre resources have put the FG at the edge of a cliff. "Plenty talk cannot fill a basket"

The FG cannot grab the Military, Customs, immigration, Police, civil defence and co..our entire revenue isn't sufficient to fund them!
Yet again the FG wants to grab ASUU, grab teaching hospitals, grab Federal Medical centres, grab power transmission..

Subsidize security, subsidize petrol, subsidize healthcare, subsidize tertiary education.

I laugh!!! With 3.4trn revenue. It is foolishness at the highest level
@RotimiAkeredolu is sitting on oil, 2nd largest bitumen deposit in the world, a coastline with opportunities for shipping and maritime businesses but the FG, through the constitution has made him a beggar.

State's cannot police themselves, they cannot generate power..
They don't have control over their resources. Omotosho power plant is in Ondo state but the rural communities around it barely enjoy electricity. The power is sent to the National grid. Omoku power plant is in Rivers state but their corporate head office is in Abuja
Kogi state cannot pay salaries. The poor are getting poorer yet the state has limestone and iron ore that have refused to be of immense benefit to the citizenry.

Where do we go from here? Wait another 4 years to campaign for elections and repeat the same thing all over again?
The FG doesn't have enough resources yet it doesn't want to free up power to the states.

To worsen the situation the FG is subsidizing what it cannot afford. Electricity, Petrol, healthcare, tertiary education, security..

Where is the money?
If you know any patriotic Nigerian who is interested in governance not just politics and feels Nigeria can move forward with this current system, please tell the person to step forward for a debate.

Why are we so blind to these realities?

Local man is seriously baffled.
