1. This is the third time Green has tried this. In December 2017, his resolution garnered 58 votes. In January 2018, it got 66 votes. Today, it drew 95.
2. Zooming back further, Brad Sherman found a single cosponsor in July 2017; by November, Steve Cohen picked up 17. The Green resolution votes followed. (Formally, those were on the question of whether to table the resolution.)
3. I’ve argued—at far too great length—why the process of an impeachment inquiry itself is valuable, and why it’d be a mistake to jettison it in favor of an up-or-down votes. But the change over time here is still notable. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…
