Our 4 year old client was detained by BP on Friday, separated from her aunt, and placed in BP's McAllen Hielera (processing) where she fell sick. Her mother is a refugee living in VT. The child is now in a hospital, but BP won't tell us where. 1/
The child's mother is desperate to be by her side, to participate in her treatment, to be asked for her consent before medicating her child - basic rights afforded to all mothers by law. BP won't even tell the mother why her child is in the hospital. 2/

BP is out of control. Children are dying in their "care". Children are caged in fetid diseased conditions. BP's overriding purpose is to sow terror. This won't stand. We fight back.

THREAD Still no word from the kidnappers of my 4 client refugee children supposed to be released today by federal injunction. For these asylum seekers of the tenderest age, they continue to be held as examples of our cruelty. 1/
We have become a nation of armed border guards and an interior federal police force - intent on purging the country of as many poc as they can. I represent women as old as 81 years. Children as young as 6 months. Dozens and dozens of separated mothers and detained children. 3/
I defend pregnant refugees, and young single women, all fleeing a violent society. They, and separated mothers, have one thing in common in my legal world of defending asylum seekers from deportation - ICE will not release them on bond. 4/

It's honestly so fresh for a book about wolves. Silver, our heroines is a wolf who has never been offland--she's way more comfortable as a wolf than in "skins." The hero, Tiberius, is a shifter who will be killed if she doesn't help him.

Heard Roger Stone called his treatment by law enforcement “unconscionable.” So I thought I’d start a non-definitive list of actual unconscionable things. Starting with:

Eric Garner’s strangulation by law enforcement for selling loose cigarettes. His killer is still on the force.
“Unconscionable.”

Stephon Clarke was shot 20 TIMES by police in his grandmother’s backyard while holding a cell phone. He was 22-years-old.
“Unconscionable” is a young mother who was falsely arrested for smoking marijuana (she wasn’t), charged with endangering the welfare of her own child, & then separated from her for a full year. Missed her first words. Her first steps. nytimes.com/2017/07/21/nyr…
