Flipping through a book on how doctors have got cancer all wrong, and it’s so predictable. In case you’re not familiar, here are the tropes:

1) So much money goes into cancer research, we should have a cure by now. The fact that we don’t means there’s a conspiracy going on.
2) Cut, Poison, Burn. Surgery can work but maybe you won’t get all of the tumour. Chemotherapy is poison, so you harm the body as well. And radiation… doesn’t it cause cancer?
3) If you’re foolish to get cut, poisoned or burned, take these supplements which have totally not been shown to protect you from the side effects of modern oncological treatments.
4) Cancer doesn’t exist, it’s just a symptom because you’re a bad person that doesn’t have the perfectly healthy lifestyle.
5) If you get cancer, it’s because you’re doing something wrong with your body.
6) If you’re not healing from cancer, it’s because you’re doing something wrong with your body.
7) Here are the 7 alternative gurus who will all tell you contradictory information about what to do and what to eat. Listen to all of them, because they have banded together in order to boost their profits even though they can’t agree on what the one true cause of cancer is.
8) These gurus are all “doctors”. Two are chiropractors. Three are naturopaths. One is an MD who lost his license. And one got a Ph.D. from the University of Harry Potter. But they’re all doctors.
9) Also, shooting coffee up your butt wakes up your liver to detox your body and it totally works. We’ve got the burn marks to prove it.
