Have discovered in recent days that my kids have agreed split the second floor of our home into rival territories and that they are not allowed to venture into territory that isn’t their own without permission. The penalty for doing that: a $1 fine.
I’ve also discovered that my 10yo daughter has completely outmaneuvered my 14yo son in the negotiations over their respective territory.
Turns out that she got my 14yo son to agree (and he confirms this) that she would get 20 free passes that she could use whenever she wanted to venture into his territory.
She also drew the territory in a way that makes it almost impossible for him to go to the bathroom they share at night without entering her patch or facing a fine. (He doesn’t have any free passes)
In fact my son has already pajd my daughter $2 in fines for going to the bathroom at night.
One thing that is fascinating is my 14yo son knows he has been completely outplayed by his younger sister. He’s gotten used to it. (She’s long been a better schemer than he is)
I’ve intervened and declared the hallway to the bathroom and the bathroom a fine-free zone. But I am very proud of my daughter.
