The Johnson brood are PR experts, who wrap themselves in likeability (by going on a reality TV show, or siding with Remainers, or pretending to be a buffoon) to hide the fact that as a family, they're only out for themselves. They're a wealthy Tory family for crying out loud.
Jo Johnson played Remainers for fools. He voted to activate Article 50 while claiming to be in favour of a second referendum. None of the Johnson family will ever be on our side. They'll only ever be on theirs.
Jo Johnson planned this. So the next time you see a de Pfeffel Johnson on the TV (yes, that is their real name), making an impassioned speech about something that tugs on your heartstrings, hopefully you won't be taken in.
