1/3: The president, whose racism is deep seated, has long had a static view of communities of color. During the 2016 campaign he referred to inner-cities — where he has spent about zero hours — as “ghettos” that were "more dangerous than some of the war zones."
2/3: In 2016 he also painted this inner-city portrait and made a promise: "The violence. The death. The lack of education. No jobs. We're going to work with the African-American community and we're going to solve the problem of the inner city...We're going to bring safety back.”
3/3: He turned his back on African-Americans and pandered to white supremacists. He’s also wrong about the demographics of Cummings’ district: It’s not simply a crime-plagued war zone. It’s also populated with college grads, urban/suburban communities, different income groups.
