2. I didn’t think they were the kind of people who would endorse the express, overt, seething racism spewed by Donald Trump. I knew Congressional Republicans embraced & exalted the privileged and the powerful and the wealthy and the connected...
3. But, perhaps naïvely on my part, I didn’t think they despised, disregarded and dismissed people of color. However, seeing how Congressional Republicans embrace, support and thereby encourage Trump’s hate of minorities, I see them for what they are. I think we all do...
4. And I’m glad I now do. If they had not been exposed, if their racism had remained covert, lurking beneath the surface, then good people might still be willing to vote for them, people who are motivated by the prospect of lower taxes and a hawkish foreign policy.
5. Good people could convince themselves that the serving Congressional Republican politicians aren’t REALLY racist. Well guess what? It’s no longer an unanswered question, no longer open to reasonable debate. Trump’s vocal hatred of minorities has flushed out into the open...

7. Trump has proved - beyond a reasonable doubt - that the Republican politicians who continue to support him are racists. Make no mistake about it, by refusing to stand up to Trump’s racism they are injuring and oppressing people of color.
8. So the one good thing that’s come of Trump? We now know that our elected Republican officials are racist. And We The People can do what’s necessary to purge all racist politicians from office.
