Not that I want to help any particular candidate on this issue, but the yahoos talking about union members losing their health insurance are full of it. Most unions have pushed health care reform, including single payer, because they want to negotiate on wages, not health care.
So candidates who bring up the union worker losing their health care, "Your union wants to get back to bargaining for higher wages, not for health insurance." Of course, the problem comes from the whole Medicare 4 All branding
Medicare sucks. I am on Medicare. It took me six months to save up enough to pay the fucking deductible for Victoza. I will be able to refill it once. Then it will bring me to the donut hole, increasing the cost of my other 12 prescriptions.
Of course, the plans expand Medicare to make it more comprehensive and of course, then payment would not be different from private. It would be the total payment. So the whole Medicare payments are too low argument is BS, too
Universal health care should mean we all have the health care we need when we need it from a provider of our choice at a cost we can afford. People are not so dumb that they can't understand taxes replace premiums, quit lying that it will be a free ride.
So, just to be clear, because Medicare sucks, I can afford Victoza for about 4 months out of 12. It is like magic for me. I can increase and increase and increase my insulin dosage and my glucose is not controlled well. The day after I started Victoza, my glucose was 115
Without Victoza, I can take 40 units of insulin twice a day and have glucose around 220. With Victoza, I can take 15 units of insulin twice a day and have glucose at 115. But I can only afford Victoza a third of the year. Medicare sucks.
