Every time @BernieSanders "my Black friends" Jim Clyburn's 10-20-30 plan as a substitute for reparations, I am reminded exactly how deeply racist that asshole is. He suggests a policy that adds NO NEW MONEY but only directs already budgeted money to the poorest rural counties
@BernieSanders Please understand. Clyburn was able to redirect real money to poor counties when Republicans held Congress. That was his genius, but by doing it on the county level it guaranteed it all went only to rural counties. Cities are just not that poor at the county level.
@BernieSanders But 10-20-30 is redirection of current money and it's all going to counties, all rural. There is a new proposal by @CoryBooker and @WhipClyburn to do this at the census tract level - that is 2500 to 8000 people, so more likely to capture some urban areas.
@BernieSanders @CoryBooker @WhipClyburn But still it is going to direct more money to white people than to African Americans. It really has nothing to do with reparations but @BernieSanders thinks African Americans are dumb and that name-dropping Clyburn is enough to foll them.
@BernieSanders @CoryBooker @WhipClyburn Remember, it is not new money, it is a redirection of current spending to poor geographic areas regardless of who lives there. It is proof of Sanders' complete contempt for African Americans that this is his reparations idea.
@BernieSanders @CoryBooker @WhipClyburn It would show more respect for African Americans if @BernieSanders said what he believes, that he does not believe in reparations or in any race-aware economic policy. He dislikes identity politics and thinks Black people are dumb enough to fall for his shell game
