Liverpool:
-The University alone successfully bid for £7.5m in EU funding for research on nuclear science, cardiovascular health...

-£2.85m for advice to SME manufacturers + £2.6m for 'eco-Innovatory' to develop low-carbon goods and services to help SMEs to grow sustainably
Kent:
-£1.6m of EU funds for Diabetes programme to improve long-term health and well-being to 1000 patients with Type 2 diabetes (with partners from BE,NL and FR)

-Teaching + research facilities at University received £75m EU funs for new facilities (Kent Law Clinic)
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly:
-£26m from EU to transform disused clay pit into an eco-park, now an international tourist attraction.

-The test facility for offshore renewable energies & Aerospace Cornwall (funded by the EU)+new Agri-tech Cornwall initiative (£7.7m from EU)
East Anglia:
-Cambridge University benefited from nearly £400m EU research funding.
-£20m into the Low Carbon Innovation Fund.
-Grants to hundreds of organisations, such as Andy’s Ark to train young people with disabilities.

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire:
-£3.5m of EU funds to help food SMEs grow their business.

-Legal protection for traditional local food products (like Buxton Blue, Dovedale, White Stilton and Blue Stilton cheeses...) to protect them against imitation .
Shropshire and Staffordshire:
-£2m of EU funds for disadvantaged people aged 19 and over in Shropshire, Telford & the Wrekin (learning and training skills).
-£9m for new research facility at Keele University.
-£3.2m to hels people in Lichfield, Tamworth, Cannock to move into work
West Midlands:
-£34m to helpsunemployed young people remove barriers to finding a job.

-£78.5m for local businesses with the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.

-£107m for Midland Metropolitan Hospital.
-Almost £1m to redevelop Dudley Canal Tunnel and Limestone Mines.
Sussex and Surrey:
-£5m to improve patients’ quality of life and survivor rates for cancer patients.

-£4.5m on grants to farmers and local businesses to create a thriving rural economy.
Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire:

-Herefordshire cider benefits from Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status.

-£15,000 to Worcestershire community organisations to help the long term unemployed
Lancashire:
-Education and Skills Funding Agency in Lancashire received over £15.5m to help unemployed people

-£5.8m to fund equipment and building costs of the Engineering Innovation Centre.

-£4.2m for the Digital Office Park in Chorley
Cumbria:
-£16.5m to provide fast broadband to 95 % of the region.

-£142m in emergency aid to help repair flood damage+£3m for climate change adaptation projects to protect local businesses from flooding.
West Yorkshire:
-Scientists working at Leeds Univ have received £25m in EU research grants; Bradford University over £1.7m.

-Funds for local college in Bradford to stage jobs fair

-£220,000 to develop a conservation plan for the South Pennine Moors.

Inner London:
-£1.5b to Crossrail project,
-£24m for the Cable Car over the River Thames.
-£75m to the London Green Fund to reduce the capital's CO2 emissions
-£875m for Medicine studying the use of a blood-clot-stabilising drug to treat post-delivery bleeding in mothers.
Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire:
-Leicester Business Women project, £373,000 in EU funds to assist business women in disadvantaged communities.
-Over £1.3m for rural economy.
-£2.5m for the Univ. of Northampton for its 'NVision' project to build 3D visualisation centre
South Yorkshire:
-Enterprising Barnsley received £5.15m to develop entrepreneurial talent.

-Univ. of Sheffield received £164.5m for 353 projects since on natural and physical sciences, social sciences and humanities
North Yorkshire:
-Superfast North Yorkshire received £11.7m.

-£1.6m to help improve environmental conservation and biodiversity.

-University of York received a £1.25m to identify inter-personal skills needed to be a successful teacher.
Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Bristol / Bath:
-£9m for Bristol University’s facility for developing hi-tech manufacturing technologies.

-£3,165,200 in joint funding from the EU and the Big Lottery Fund to people with disabilities to help them get into education training or work
Outer London:
-£1.35 million to help 238 small enterprises to develop business plans
-£5.6m to vulnerable families in less well-off areas to get a secure job.
-£1m to help boost economic performance in the creative sector
Tees Valley and Durham:
-£7m for Durham University to study how nature-based solutions can be used to address the challenges of sustainable urban development.
-£1.2m to improve the innovation and knowledge capacity of 10 chemical industrial zones
Eastern Scotland:
-£30.7m to increase the resource efficiency of businesses, further develop and strengthen the circular economy.

-£10m to create efficient infrastructure, aid urban planning and improve public well-being by using data and integrating technological systems
Devon:
-£4,625m to to reach homes, farms and businesses in Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks.

-Plymouth’s major Oceansgate development backed by EU funding of £2.6 million.

-EU funding supporting Devon Wildlife Trust’s 4-year project
Dorset and Somerset:
-over £9m to farms, small businesses and community organisations

-£6.7m to support business development in existing and emerging sectors.
Greater Manchester:
-£140m to support entrepreneurship and fund research and innovation processes, including technology transfer.
-£33 million to help up to 50,000 Greater Manchester residents move towards sustainable employment.
-Supporting the delivery of urban development £60m
Essex:
-DP World London Gateway, £12m for dredging and reclamation works.

-£1m to help people get their dream businesses up and running.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight:
-£30m ifor Univ. for research on liver disease, supernovae and protecting coral reefs from climate change.
-£3m to help develop more energy-efficient cables.
-£19m to restore habitats such as wetlands and to manage New Forest ponies
Bristol:
-£2.2m to make public and residential buildings more energy efficient
-£2.9m to explore how new technologies can be used in an integrated way to help tackle fuel poverty.
-£9.27m to get the most out of digital technologies and the arts.
East Wales:
-Over £100m to help deliver the first phase of a 'City Deal' to improve the region's infrastructure and transport links.
-£9.2m to help disabled people into work.
-£13.5m to help provide job advice, support and training to young people in north and south-east Wales.
West Central Scotland:
-Over £5m to run projects to help young unemployed people find a way into education, training or a job.
-£450000 to design & build the world's first two hybrid ferries, using 'green' technology. The project supported 175 jobs and 20 apprenticeships locally
Northern Ireland:
-The EU PEACE programmes from 1995 and 2013, involving £1.3 billion and the Peace IV Programme (2014-2020), with a value of £237m.
-£248m for projects on cross-border research and innovation development, environment, sustainable transport, health and social care
North Eastern Scotland:
-The EU contributed £663 970 to support the development of Aberdeen Harbour.
-£2.1m for economic diversification within and outside the fishing industry
-£6.12m to help build an integrated supply of renewable and low carbon heat for residential buildings
West Wales and the Valleys:
-Harbour Way: £54m of EU funding to build a dual-carriageway .
-£8 million to help bring broadband coverage to more households
-£2.4 million in restoring some 750 ha of wetland habitat in northwest Wales
Highlands and Islands:
- £250m over the past 20 years for the University of the Highlands and Islands (IT infrastructure, research capacity...)

-Fyne Ales - New Brewery: building, funding of £358,059 as part of a mix of grants from the EU funded Scottish Rural Development Prog
North Eastern Scotland:
-£2.1m to revitalised fisheries areas and created training and job opportunities.
-Aberdeen City Council is participating in HeatNet, a project to build an integrated transnational supply of renewable heat for residential buildings :£6.12 million
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire:

-Aberdeen Hydrogen Bus Project received £8.3m of EU funds to help fund a new fleet of 10 hydrogen buses.

-£1.6m to promote employment and social inclusion.
Wrexham and Flintshire:

-Supporting integration of young people into the labour market with £1.83m.
-EU funds of £390,218 were awarded to the North East Wales Strategic Business Parks project.
Southampton:
-Tackling Social Exclusion project provided settings for meaningful, work focused activities for groups of individuals who are less able to work independently received £1m

-£3.42m to support SMEs on clean and environmentally friendly ways to manufacture chemicals
Milton Keynes:
-EU funding is helping Milton Keynes small and medium-sized businesses to develop new products and technologies like portable solar panels that can be used to provide energy in emergency situations
York:
-£17.5m awarded to the University of York to support collaboration between the university’s science base and local industries.
-£7.3m to ensure that York and West Yorkshire are fully covered by broadband internet
Coventry:
-Supported by EU funding of £3.1 million, Ambition Coventry was set up to reduce youth unemployment by providing targeted support for marginalised groups such as young people with disabilities, ethnic minorities or lone parents.
Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire:

-350 small and medium-sized businesses are to be supported by the Innovation Bridge project set up in Central Bedfordshire with £1.95 million in European Regional Development Fund support.
Merseyside:
-£10.8 million in EU funding went towards developing a modern transport hub linking the area to the city centre and to nearby Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which itself received significant funding between 2000 and 2008 to increase terminal capacity.
Southern Scotland:
-The European Investment Bank provided loan finance of £109 million towards the construction of a new hospital in Dumfries. Opened at the end of 2017, this state of the art facility serves 150,000 people living within its catchment area.
Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire:

-Oxford, one of the world’s top ten universities according to academic rankings, has benefited massively from EU research funding – over £70 million of it since 2014.
Norwich and East Norfolk:
-University of East Anglia had received £15 million from the Horizon 2020 funding programme.

-Large areas of the Norfolk Broads National Park enjoy special protection under EU legislation
Nottingham:
-BioCity - a business incubator linked to Boots and founded by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, it provides a flexible structure for small and new biotechnology and healthcare businesses... £4.3 million during the period 2007-2013.
Leicester:
-2.6 million in EU regional funding has been allocated to the Connecting Leicester project in order to improve local infrastructure and develop the King Richard III visitor centre, which is located at the recently discovered burial site of this 15th century monarch.
Luton:

-Luton Borough Council has secured a £2 million European Social Fund grant to be matched by £2 million in local funding and spent on a range of community-led development initiatives. These will focus on the more deprived parts of the town, aiming to improve people's lives
Telford and Wrekin:
-Employment Support During the period 2014-2020, the EU has allocated a total of £37 million from the European Social Fund to the Marches region, which includes Telford & Wrekin.
Exeter and Devon:
-Housing refurbishment and energy saving: Exeter benefited from the 2013-2015 Ready4Retrofit programme, which leveraged £2.3m of EU funding to make social housing warmer and greener and support local retrofit businesses.
Sheffield:
-EU regional funds of £13.35 million were allocated in the 2007-13 programming period to the Key Fund for a series of projects to support jobseekers, SMEs and social enterprises in South Yorkshire, with Sheffield one of the main cities to benefit.
Dundee and Angus:

-A £16.3 million Scotland-wide National Lottery Community Fund initiative designed to tackle poverty and promote social inclusion has benefited from European Social Fund input of £6.9 million for the 2017 to 2020 period
Edinburgh:

-The Enhanced Employability Pipeline secured a European Social Fund grant of £3.5 million for projects running from January 2015 until September 2018 to help unemployed people back to work.
Derby:
-Launched in 2016, Enabling Innovation is a three-year project involving the University of Derby and two other local universities, which provides support to over 2000 local businesses. Backed by EU funding of £10.1 million
Cardiff:
-Between 2011 and 2014, the EU put £2 million towards regenerating the severely deprived Cardiff neighbourhood of Butetown.
Newcastle:
-EU-funded regeneration projects changed the city considerably following the 2008 economic crisis, through projects like the refurbishment of the Toffee Factory, where the EU provided £2.8 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Swansea:
-As part of the city centre regeneration project, the EU contributed around £6.1m towards a new bus station, which opened in 2010. Next stage is the redevelopment of the Kingsway area into a city centre park and digital district, with EU investment of over £4.5 million.
Glasgow:
-In February 2014, the European Investment Bank (EIB) agreed to provide a loan of £175 m towards upgrading the M8 motorway between Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as major improvements to the M73 and M74
Belfast:
-Belfast benefits from £8.79 million under the PEACE IV Programme. Launched in January 2018, it supports peace and reconciliation in Belfast, focusing on three themes: children and young people, shared civic spaces and services and building positive relations.
Blackpool:
Blackpool received an EU investment of £14 million to purchase and develop important tourist landmarks such as the Blackpool Tower and the Winter Gardens entertainment complex under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Stoke-on-Trent:
-Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Public Realm. Helping to reconstruct roads and pavements and provide new street lighting and furniture, this project has given the city centre a facelift, revitalising the shopping district, with the EU contributing £3.5 million
Bournemouth and Poole:
-Supporting social inclusion: Dorset opted to put £4.4 million of its EU funding into the Big Lottery Fund’s Building Better Opportunities programme, making £8.8 million available for three match-funded projects.
These are just a bunch of examples. Direct EU action.
