#Retention is the new growth, so if your business is struggling with retention, be ready to pivot and do something different. If you don't, you won't want to imagine what might happen. I wrote this blog for G2crowd: learn.g2.com/user-retention…
1/. Make potential customers' first contact with your product as enjoyable as possible.
Make your ad and landing page as correlated as possible. Try to keep the same voice, copy, message, and design.
2/Step into the potential customer’s brain

What are the common problems your customers are facing? Your goal is to make them addicted to your product, so point our their problems and mention your solution. Here's an example.
3/Prevent churn in the signup flow
Signup flow is one of the most critical aspects of the user journey. It’s the place where your users are actually starting to use your product (or leaving it without trying). Decide which one is yours
4/Segment your users for a more personalized user onboarding

Segment it by:
-New vs Old users
-Users who haven’t engaged with the core feature
-Users by persona
-Users by role (admin or member)
-If freemium: Lifetime free users
-Loyal users
-Users you haven’t seen for a while
5/Use context-driven, behavior-driven, and triggered in-app experiences
6. Use checklists in your user onboarding
@GrowthMentorHQ was able to reduce 75% of tickets with this checklist.
7/Use progress bars to boost product adoption
@GrowthMentorHQ 8/ Use psychology in user onboarding like peer pressure. Hey your colleague tried this feature. Perhaps you want it to?
@GrowthMentorHQ 9/Gamify your user onboarding
Gamification is a powerful way to intrigue your users and motivates them to use your product. I love how @SeamlessAI does it
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI 10/Add success and celebrations
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI 10/Use transactional emails to boost product adoption and improve user retention. You can use it to send them system emails such as what has happened since they launched.
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI 11/Improve user retention while collecting the feedback. Collecting the feedback is a great way to both improve user retention for SaaS and to achieve word-of-mouth marketing. Use a tool like @FeedierApp that makes feedback fun and gamified.
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI @FeedierApp 12/Keep users updated
A good practice is to have a little changelog inside your product. It’s usually on the top right corner.
I love how @Drift does it.
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI @FeedierApp @Drift 13/Use context-driven actions for product adoption
You have two features that are in a tight relationship with each other (Feature A and Feature B - where the Feature A is the core feature while Feature B is the secondary feature). I love how hubspot does it.
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI @FeedierApp @Drift 14/Market your features so that users know.
@Drift takes the marketing to the sign-in/sign-up page even.
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI @FeedierApp @Drift 15/Use webinars as an education tool
Webinars are a great way to educate your new and existing users at scale.

For example, you can use webinars to talk about the newest feature release, use cases, and etc.

@intercom does it well.
@GrowthMentorHQ @SeamlessAI @FeedierApp @Drift @intercom 16/Add a bit of human element wherever you can
Showcasing the people behind the product is always a good option.

Love how team @balsamiq shows it.

17/ Offer great customer support

18/Switch up to a value metric
