At @Joseph_Marks_-moderated election security panel, CISA's Alex Joves says 50 states and 1,900 local jurisdictions are now using the government's cybersecurity services.
Cloudflare's Alissa Starzak says that as of the 2018 election, at least one jurisdiction in more than half of states used the company's free DDoS prevention service.
.@KimZetter asks a great question at the end of this panel: If three years of federal and state assessments didn’t catch ES&S using internet connectivity, what should we make of that?
The CISA rep on the panel doesn't really have an answer. (The only answer — that those assessments aren't nearly expansive enough — is not very encouraging.)
