THREAD: Corbyns foresight explained.

Why did this life long critic of the EU position himself as chief opponent of 'no-deal' (actual brexit)?
Because he saw how parliament was going to obfuscate the concept of leaving. To ride that wave would be a route to victory. 1/
The hidden truth of #Brexit is that 'no deal' does not actually mean 'no free trade deal'. It means no to the Withdrawal Agreement, which carried with it insane obligations that no other free-trade partner of the EU, like Japan or Canada, had to sign up to for their deals. 2/
To leave on WTO terms under the current circs "could create a degree of chaos" according to JC. An interesting choice of words that implies a temporary & manageable level of disruption, owing to the fact the gov hasn't spent the last 3 years preparing for it. 3/
To make alternative trade deals takes time. But May did this all backwards by agreeing to future terms before discussing trade. She locked us into EU control on purpose to stop brexit. Coronated leader, her job was to take the fall for that theft of democracy. 4/
But TM didn't get the job done. She had to stop brexit AND JC. She ran out of road & now they've sent in the Kamikazi Squad. BJs job is the same as May's but instead of tryin to pass a fake leave deal, he's relyin on others to pull the handbrake b4 he takes us over 'the cliff' 5/
Then he can go into a GE as the victim of the anti-democrats & the only one who respects the electorate. He'll wash his hands of it all just like he did the Garden Bridge, throwing money over his shoulders, promising the world while doing nothing at all. 6/
The backstop IS remaining. It's the veto May gave the EU to frustrate the process & ultimately a future Labour gov. That's their long game. No deal might mean disruption till other trade arrangements are made (which would be swift, capitalists don't like a break in the supply) 7/
... but the bigger risk to the elites is the prospect of unrestrained, irreversible renationalisation. The type the EU outlaws w/ rules against state aid. Disruption could be managed. We've got £200bn for an unusable WMD, we can cover it. But it shouldn't have to be this way. 8/
This apparent car crash crescendo to 3 years of grinding, groundhog day, ever decreasing circles of bullshit could have been avoided, had the presiding gov actually wanted to leave the EU. As LOTO, Corbyn couldn't make any of the decisions, he could only pressure the gov. 9/
That was the easy part. The spanner in the works was his majority remain party & voter base, egged on by a petrified 5th column, to agitate for Labour to outright oppose all forms of Brexit. Even though the nation had voted to leave. 10/
So Corbyn couldn't rely on his own party or the other 'opposition' parties to back his efforts to endorse a compromise soft deal. He was never gonna have the numbers to force thru anything he preferred. Instead, he preempted parliaments moves. 11/
There was method to JCs apparent madness. Criticised over late moves to support a 2nd ref & late moves to call for a VoNC, He just had to keep makin the gov look bad while beckonin them towards the 'cliff edge'. Don't underestimate the opportunity for socialism post brexit. 12/
But BJ is not so daft as to think he can win an election after Brexit. He'll call one before we leave. That is the most awkward scenario for Labour. We win by not alienating either side of the debate. Offer our leave deal and then talk about domestic policy 13/
