What I don't get is this:
Dutch elm disease was treated as a national tragedy.
Ash dieback, which is just as devastating, has already been forgotten by most people.
What has happened to us, that we now seem to care so little?
Where logging and climate breakdown have so far failed to eliminate the world’s forests, imported diseases threaten to complete the job. This is a massive issue, neglected by governments, the media and, to be honest, most of us.
It's time to stop the trade in live plants.
