Many people know of Edward Snowden's Guardian Angels, who helped save his life in Hong Kong. What few know is Ed himself is a guardian angel.

He helped me escape from New Zealand and has been my rock ever since.

The bad guys know this. It's time for good ppl to.

It's a matter of public record that Ed was talking to well known NZ investigative journalist Nicky Hager in 2014. That same year, Ed also reached out to me. It was at the height of my targeting by the NZ government, I was in deep trouble and he saw what was happening to me.

It was pre-2014 NZ general election, around the time I was promoting and covering @KimDotcom's 'Moment of Truth' event, which featured Ed, Glenn Greenwald, Julian and others.

I was being stalked, attacked and endangered daily, by teams of FVEY operatives/contractors.

@KimDotcom I was intensely vulnerable - single mother living alone with the kids. NZ Police refused to protect me. I was a sitting duck.

Ed befriended me and advised me to consider getting out. Suggested I follow in the footsteps of others who had faced extreme targeting, and go to Berlin

@KimDotcom At first the idea seemed to be impossible but I eventually realised there was no other way to make it stop. Ed told me to get legal advice before I left the country, which I did. It was great advice which served me well. Ed was wise, conservative and caring in all his approaches.

@KimDotcom Ed is an intensely private person, partially by nature but also because his life depends on his privacy and on people respecting it. So I will have very little to say other than the above at this time.

The reason I'm saying it at all is because of something @caitoz told me.

@KimDotcom @caitoz She warned me not to risk being silenced and unable to speak, but to seize the day and speak now.

She didn't know about what I've shared in this thread, she was talking more generally about my situation. But her words stuck with me.

@KimDotcom @caitoz Those who were/are persecuting me and other people I care about, know these things I am now disclosing. I have learned from experience that when we allow the bad guys to hoard info, they weaponise it. When we prevent the good guys from having that same info, we neuter ourselves.

@KimDotcom @caitoz With news of "secret evidence" and "secret trials" being wielded by authorities against people I worked closely with in NZ such as @CitizenBomber - and indeed Hager's own case against the Police had portions sealed under claims of "national security" - this context is important

@KimDotcom @caitoz @CitizenBomber Likewise, I have no doubt that as with my connections with Kim and with Julian, my connection with Ed is an aggravating factor in my situation and the dangers I continue to face.

Hiding that will only serve, and even aid, those who want to harm us.

@KimDotcom @caitoz @CitizenBomber I'm mindful of what @JohnKiriakou said to me on stream last Friday - "You have been vindicated... now get it all into the light."

This little piece of truth is my birthday gift to myself and everyone who is so graciously & generously supporting me.

That, along with my own track record of journalism, activism and my political persecution in New Zealand, is why without any doubt, I need refugee status and asylum.

@KimDotcom @caitoz @CitizenBomber @JohnKiriakou Although I kept this secret for 5 years, I subtly alluded to it many times in my work. Never being able to take my survival for granted, I left a breadcrumb trail through everything I did.

I've had great teachers, I'm very very blessed, and I've tried to learn well.

@KimDotcom @caitoz @CitizenBomber @JohnKiriakou Ed's veracity is not just in his wonderful personality or his generosity. It's in the documents he leaked. Studying those documents, is of vital importance to understanding his significance. That's why I did #DecipherYou. That's why, circumstance allowing, I hope to continue it.

@KimDotcom @caitoz @CitizenBomber @JohnKiriakou Similarly, anyone who has any questions about anything in this thread, can find answers for themselves in my own back catalog of work.

No one can ever give you on a platter, the gems that you can unearth for yourself with enough investment of time and attention to detail.
