remember a couple months ago when the Waorani people successfully protected half a million acres of their ancestral territory in the Amazon rainforest from being mined for oil drilling by huge corporations? wouldn't be surprised if this is news to you...

where was the outrage? last i checked, people aren't yet over christopher columbus coming to America, so... this should cause an uproar, right? good thing we are always so distracted with watching our politicians fight each other or maybe we'd notice...
so a couple months after winning this lawsuit to protect their land and what do you know... it's on fire. how unlucky. coincidence? one thing i know for sure is....
if you're going to be mining for oil in a rainforest, a fire would be a great way to clear it out for free. i mean, you can't set up shop on top of a bunch of trees. but anyway....
nothing to see here.

"The land is meant to be protected under Ecuador’s constitution that establishes the inalienable, unseizable and indivisible rights of indigenous people to maintain possession of their ancestral lands and obtain their free adjudication."
"Some people believe that the Ecuadorian government may be accepting bribes in some roundabout way."

lol... yeah, i'd say so. meanwhile in America we have celebrities telling us this is our fault while sharing pictures from years ago.

thanks, celebs! but we know whats going on
