The Remain in Mexico policy may even be violating the U.S. law that grants migrants the right to seek protection in the United States. Instead, asylum seekers face a series of obstacles from violence, language barriers, and failure to be notified about trials.
DHS officials had planned to ask asylum seekers whether they had fear of being returned to Mexico — but the question was cut before the "Remain in Mexico" policy started. We obtained the emails: americanoversight.org/document/uscis…
