We know how China is going to behave. We know they are not going to negotiate material changes to their economic policy. We know they will not negotiate in good faith. This matters for a very simple reason. If we know this about my counterparty in a negotiation, then nothing 3/n

Then so be it because we can get it done. Sixth, this is a long lasting ideological shift with the world being split between China's authoritarian allies and soft but coalescing democratic coalition. Willful ignorance now to believe otherwise. Sooner you recognize the reality 7/n
The better. I am not asking you to vote for anyone, like anyone, or change your belief. I am telling you China is a fundamental threat and whether you are a progressive Democrat or a conservative Republican, we need to come together and pressure our lawmakers to confront 8/n
the biggest threat we have faced in many years maybe ever. This is not about economic competitiveness but about the values, especially on this Labor Day, we hold dear. China is fundamentally opposed to all of those values and is actively working to change that globally. 9/n
