If DAG is going full repetition mode on the fact a PM cannot call a General Election any more, I can do the same...

the EU does not conclude negotiations with third countries in a European Council meeting.
While we're at it, worth adding...

Officials do most of the work in international negotiations and will not be able to do this in the event of a General Election being in progress
I think this may need some repetition as well...

If there is an election then no-deal planning will have to be scaled back dramatically because of purdah rules

Actually that should be repeated a lot, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Another one...

There is no evidence that threatening the other side is the way to agree a deal. The clue being in the word, "agreement"
If an election is held on a Monday counting will not finish until late Tuesday and yet we're supposed to think a Government will be renegotiating a deal with the EU on the Thursday?

Really wish media would subject what they are spoonfed to even the remotest scrutiny
Basically the thinking behind an election on October 14th has more holes than Swiss cheese and yet none of this is being reflected in the analysis of the briefings being given to the media
Oh yes, October election doesn't help business decide to prepare for Brexit either. One party wins it means no-deal and need to spend money, other party wins and definitely not no-deal, any money spent largely wasted.
Of course the possibility remains that the rebels fail this week, in which case no-deal goes up to around 90% likelihood (little prospect of a revised deal, little prospect of MPs acting later).

Wednesday will be a huge day for currency speculators.
An MP is on the purdah issue from one angle. Good. We need a lot more scrutiny of Government plans, which they're trying to avoid
10 confirmed rebels so far on the Conservative side, would expect total to be about 15, which is probably enough to win. Of these a few are retiring as MPs anyway, and one, Rory Stewart, I reckon can win his constituency as an independent conservative
