Here, we're going to thread the key #pitmad rules/guidelines, but please visit pitchwars.org/pitmad for full details. #PitMad is a pitch party on Twitter where writers tweet a 280-character pitch for their completed, polished, unpublished manuscripts.
Every unagented writer is welcome to pitch. All genres/categories are welcomed. All nationalities are welcomed.

#PitMad occurs quarterly.

Do NOT tag agents/editors in your pitches. Don't tag us unless you have a question.
Agents and editors make requests by liking/favoriting (❤️) the tweeted pitch. #pitmad
🢂🢂Don’t favorite friends’ tweets.🢀🢀 More favorites can make it hard for those with requests to see all of their faves/likes. RT or Quote-RT to show your support. Please don't include the #pitmad hashtag in your QRTs or replies.
Be respectful and courteous to each other, and especially to the industry professionals. If you do see abuse, please report it to Twitter or notify us directly. We encourage you to mute or block spam accounts. #pitmad
Your manuscript should be completed, polished, unpublished, and ready to query. If you’re not ready to send the full manuscript immediately, please wait until the next #pitmad event on December 5. For Non-Fiction, have a polished proposal.
Your pitch must fit inside one tweet. Do not thread tweets. You don’t have to include the title of your book. #pitmad
Include the #PitMad hashtag and an age category sub-hashtag (See: pitchwars.org/pitmad/#hashta…) (age categories: #PB #C #CB #MG #YA #NA #A)

Optional: You may include multiple genre or additional hashtags as they apply
You may only tweet 3 pitches for each manuscript throughout the day. You can pitch more than one manuscript throughout the day (3 pitches for each).

Do NOT attach pictures unless it’s an illustration for a Picture Book or Graphic novel.

If an industry professional favorites/likes your tweet, check their recent tweets for submission preferences. Send the request as soon as you can after researching them. #pitmad
Any industry professional can participate in #PitMad. It’s your responsibility to research the requesting agent or publisher. pitchwars.org/how-to-researc…

You do NOT have to send requests if you aren’t interested in working with that person.
Industry professionals, please see info for you here: pitchwars.org/pitmad/#indust…

Thank you for joining us! Please let us know if you have any questions. #pitmad
For today, leave the #pitmad hashtag to those who are pitching.

Good luck and happy pitching!
