As one who spent 9/12 participating in a mass effort to buy supplies for 1st responders and ferry them down to Ground Zero checkpoints this is bullshit

@realDonaldTrump What Trump is doing should rightfully be called a version of stolen valor.

@realDonaldTrump It's not like it was possible to get through those checkpoints unless you were a first responder or some members of the press.

Even if Trump had, he'd have made damn sure everyone knew at the time.

Besides, he's clearly a coward. And squeamish. This was not the place for that

@realDonaldTrump Mayor Rudy Giuliani to ordered everyone south of Canal to evacuate, if they hadn't already. Everything south of 14th was closed to vehicle & subway traffic. Residents of TWC area weren't allowed back for days. There were police and soldiers enforcing this.

@realDonaldTrump Lots of ordinary people did try and help. They bought supplies for workers and search dogs. They brought food and flowers to police and fire stations. They took in those who were homeless.

Trump did none of these things. Nor used his power and money in any meaningful way.
