Thread. #911 Two events are defining moments in my life. When JFK was assassinated. When the planes hit the twin towers. I used to see the World Trade Center from my balcony. I rode the elevator to the top w/a friend who worked there, to help conquer my fear of heights.
The sky was blue, the sun was shining. I was meeting my neighbor in our building’s garage- he was giving me his parking space. He said a plane went into the World Trade Center. I didn’t understand what he meant, until I looked up, on my way out of the garage. I saw it. A plane.
Sticking out of the tower, flames. It is not possible to explain how I could not compute what my eyes were witnessing. I drove to school. It was the first day of class for my freshmen. But instead, we were watching tv in the dean’s office. People were panicking. Classes cancelled
