1/4 A probable factor in the failure of both Change UK and Corbyn's opponents within the Labour Party has been legacy media journalists egging them on and encouraging them to believe that their politics have far broader appeal in the country than is really the case.
2/4 Wouldn't be at all surprised if Swinson and the Lib Dems end up having a similarly chastening experience at the next election, in part because they've had their heads turned by journalists who are politically on the same page.
3/4 i.e. fiscally conservative/socially a bit liberal (though far less liberal than they believe themselves to be).
4/4 Media reform is all well and good, but if we reform the media who's going to encourage these people to jump over the political cliff edge?
