@davey1233 @RenewableUK @ELPinchbeck Not sure what you are driving at, solar won’t work on it’s own and neither will wind. I’ve not worked through the math. My back of packet estimate was that 4x current wind and 6x solar, coupled with pumped Hydro should enable 80% of our generation needs to be met
@davey1233 @RenewableUK @ELPinchbeck I expect solar generation in winter to be 20% of peak summer generation and wind in winter to be 200 - 300% of summer generation
@davey1233 @RenewableUK @ELPinchbeck If average daily consumption is 34Gwh then I would guess you would need something like 34GWh of pumped hydro storage.
