Imagine a room, it’s perfectly sealed, and it’s large enough to hold 1000 people. In this room is a water faucet. One person in the room says it is your God given right to have water, he turns on the faucet and water begins to fill the tub.
Everyone is happy because now they have water, but eventually the water begins to run over the edge of the tub. It ticks a few people off because they are now getting their feet wet, they complain about it to the small group of people watching the tap.
“We can’t turn it off, what if we run out and die of thirst? This water is keeping us alive.” And the water continues to flow.

Eventually the water has filled the room up to the knees and once again the people complain.

“We can’t turn the water off, we could thirst if we do!”

as requested, here's a lil thread with thoughts and observations on how to grow as a game designer, from aspiring to senior, as a salaried game designer for over 10 years. (it's ok if you disagree with me 🌠)
1. starting designers often ask for book recommendations. my first answer is "have you made stuff?" you've probably already read enough blog articles or watched GDC talks, so go make some stuff. it doesn't always have to be finished games. test out ideas. in an engine.
THEN it'll be helpful to read some stuff, after you made/while making stuff.

They live for that kind of thing and for the most part, enjoy their name in the press whether the coverage is good or bad
3/ But this episode of Russiagate takes place outside of DC, namely in Chicago, and involves people who are just trying to live normal lives yet they got harassed as part of this nonsense.

I shudder to think maybe all this caused a man to take his own life

Hitler has called an emergency council with top German commanders, to decide whether to continue with Operation Sea Lion, planned invasion of Britain.
Hitler: "The efforts of the Luftwaffe are beyond praise- but we cannot bring England to her knees. We must be sure of successful invasion."
Operation Sea Lion is scheduled for 17 September, before autumn storms begin. By then, the Royal Air Force must be destroyed- next 3 days are Hitler's last hope for invasion of Britain.

Google uses technology based on gVisor in production for many Google services serving hundreds of billions of requests per day including App Engine standard, Cloud Functions, and CloudML.
It’s enabled a fundamental shift in how we run and support languages. First impact for users was Java 8 support, where we removed class whitelisting, sped things up significantly, and used a standard java interpreter.

Node.js on App Engine standard is the next step. It’s awesome to quickly deploy an app, pay pennies for low traffic, have it scale to fairly impressive levels, and have Google do all the management.
