1. Here's the paradox: the more crimes Trump commits, the more disunited his opposition becomes. If Trump did shoot someone on 7th Avenue, not only would he get away with it, but the Dems would be tearing each other apart.
2. The answer to the paradox is simple: there is no clear Dem leader. So the worse Trump becomes, the more Dems argue over how to deal with him. This is all the moreso because Nancy Pelosi has decided to forgo leadership on impeachment.
3. The core Pelosi decision -- which I hope she changes -- is that impeachment doesn't make sense if there is no GOP buy-in. The reasoning here is that if only Dems push for impeachment it'll be seen as partisan. But this gives GOP veto power over issue.
