Years ago, I was part of an online trading group.
It was just static Google group, where we mainly communicated through emails. We were only 6 members.
This group played a big role in me becoming profitable.
Every members had very different trading styles and strategies
So instead of sharing meaningless trade ideas, we focused on sharing process-oriented and mindset stuff.
Since it wasn't a chat room and we were a small group, we weren't expecting immediate replies, so we really had the time to reflect, and do some research before replying.
I've never done as much research as I did when I was part of that group, coz I was highly motivated to show other group members the results of my research, as well as learning about other members research and process.
We were almost like accountability buddies.
That's when I started seriously recording my trades, actually reviewing them, stats, risk mgmt, pos sizing, finding & focusing on my very best setup, and really accepting that trading wasn't ab making/losing money on 1 trade, but ab the outcome of a large series of trades.
I'll be forever indebted the members of that group, especially Dave (also a full-timer) and Trev.
As much as I'm not fond of chat rooms where wannabe traders and wannabe gurus only share and look for trade ideas through their thick outcome and confirmation bias lenses,
I highly encourage anyone who's serious about trading to find really motivated traders and form such a group that focuses exclusively on the process, accountability and the mindset of trading.
